Diploma in Islamic Counselling program is designed based on three main areas: psychology, counselling, and Islamic studies. The main objective of this program is to equip graduates with a holistic approach to helping people living in challenging times. Additionally, the teaching method in this program is hybrid (a combination of online and face-to-face learning) and students will follow industrial training in the final semester. This program will take 2 years and 6 months to complete. Furthermore, courses provided in this program are aligned with the industry’s current needs and able to prepare students for their future careers. Among the courses that will be studied are as follows;

  2. Introduction to Guidance and Counselling
  3. Theory of Counselling and Psychotherapy
  4. Psychology of Human Development
  5. Social Psychology
  6. Introduction to Abnormal Psychology
  7. Fundamental of Family System
  8. Individual and Group Guidance
  9. Industrial and Organizational Psychology
  10. Career Guidance

This programme aims to produce graduates who;

• Familiar with basic knowledge in the field of Islamic counselling and psychology.
• Implement Islamic principles and counselling in dealing with situations, problems,
and issues.
• Apply counselling techniques and skills and show a responsible attitude in doing
so.
• Use appropriate interpersonal and communication skills when dealing with others.
• Use various information and digital applications in managing counselling data.
• Practice teamwork and show awareness of related social responsibilities.
• Use personal and entrepreneurial skills for lifelong learning and career
development.
• Show commitment to Islamic values and teachings in offering helpful services.

• Malaysian Certificate of Education or Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least honours in 3 subjects; OR

• Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 3 subjects: OR

• Pass O-Level with at least Grade C in 3 subjects; OR

• Pass the Malaysian Skills Certificate (SKM) Level 3 in the appropriate field subject to the approval of the Senate / Academic Board.
(Note: HPT needs to conduct screening and specific guidance related to programme areas for students); OR

• Pass a Community College Certificate equivalent to Level 3 Malaysian Qualifications
Framework (MQF) in a related field; AND
o SPM with at least honours in 1 subject; and
o attending enrichment programme (if necessary); or

• Certificate (MQF Level 3) in a related field with at least a CGPA of 2.00, OR

• Malaysian Higher Education Certificate (STPM) with at least Grade C (NGMP 2.0) in 1 subject, OR

• Pass Malaysian Higher Religious Certificate (STAM) (maqbul level OR Other qualifications recognized as equivalent by the Malaysian Government.

• A recognized certificate in Islamic Studies or its equivalent

DR. RUZIAH BINTI GHAZALI

Board of Director

YBhg. Dr. Ruziah Binti Ghazali is a prominent leader in Malaysia’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector, recognized with the Special Award for Master Coach in Education Development from TVETecoUSIM. She advocates for Islamic TVET and supports individuals with disabilities, contributing to the book “Nothing is Impossible – Success Stories of Persons with Disabilities.”

As a scholar and Islamic Woman Entrepreneur, she focuses on women’s and community development and was honored as Tokoh Saidatina Aishah during National Women’s Day in 2021.

Dr. Ruziah holds a PhD in Educational Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Master of Science in Educational Science, and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Islamic Studies from the University of Malaya. She is also a licensed Company Secretary and Tax Agent.
