SERDANG – The Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Religious Affairs, YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im bin Haji Mokhtar celebrated the success of the 765 graduates of Kolej Profesional Baitulmal Kuala Lumpur (KPBKL) in various disciplines at 17th Convocation Ceremony held at the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Arts and Cultural Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, today.
Also present in the event were Tuan Syed Kamarulzaman bin Syed Kabeer, Chairman of the Majlis Agama Islam Wilayah Persekutuan (MAIWP), Datuk Nizam bin Yahya, Acting Chief Executive Officer of MAIWP, Tuan Haji Zuri Zabuddin bin Budiman, Chairman of Institut Profesional Baitulmal Sdn. Bhd. and the members of the Board of Directors, and Associate Professor Dr. Haji Mohammad Firdaus Low bin Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of KPBKL.
Speaking at the ceremony, YB Senator Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Na’im said, “In ensuring the success of the Al-Falah Transformation Programme, which is in line with the agenda for the reformation and development of the ummah and the ‘Developing Malaysia MADANI’ aspiration, I hope that KPBKL realises its critical role in producing competent and holistic Islamic scholars to be the catalysts of ummah transformation, for now and for the future.”
“The convocation ceremony today is an example of MAIWP’s and KPBKL’s success in delivering the mission again and hopefully more graduates will be able to enjoy the privilege of continuing their education in KPBKL in times to come,” he added.
This convocation also announced the new KPBKL Alumni Association, which was recently formed earlier this year. Representing the KPBKL Alumni Association was Dato’ Dr. Mazlan bin Haji Ahmad, KPBKL’s 1995 alumnus who is now the Founder of the Masyi Group of Companies.
In his speech, Prof. Madya Dr. Haji Mohammad Firdaus Low mentioned, “This momentous occasion is especially to recognise the success of the graduates, together with their families who has been supporting them during their studies. This is where their hard work all these years paid off, and this is where they start a new journey in their lives to contribute back to the community and the country.”
He added further, “KPBKL is proud to be the best platform in helping the asnaf group to obtain the education that they need in order to change the future of their families and communities to be more prosperous and meaningful.
